Violin

was born in Kyiv, Ukraine and studied with Prof. Josef Rissin at the Karlsruhe University of Music and with Prof. Axel Gerhardt at the Berlin University of the Arts. He is a prizewinner of the competition “Jugend Musiziert”, including several 1st prizes with the highest score at the national level in the category violin solo as well as special prizes of the Deutsche Stiftung Musikleben.

 

As a sought-after chamber musician, he has performed at major festivals such as the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival, the Festspiele Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, the Rheingau Music Festival, the Music Festival of the International Bach Academy Stuttgart, the Mozart Festival Würzburg and PODIUM Esslingen. He has also performed on major stages such as the Chamber Music Hall of the Berlin Philharmonic and the Konzerthaus Berlin.

 

Alex Jussow gained orchestral experience as a long-standing member of the Baden-Württemberg State Youth Orchestra and the German Federal Youth Orchestra. In 2015 he became a permanent member of the Stuttgart State Orchestra.

 

He received important musical impulses from Günter Pichler (Alban Berg Quartet), Eberhard Feltz, Tabea Zimmermann and the Artemis Quartet, among others.
